Synflux is a speculative fashion laboratory of fashion designers, machine learning engineers, web designers, design researchers, architects and service designers. We work as a contemplative design collective that crosses over seemingly conflicting concepts of research and practice, expression and implementation, prototyping and contemplation, and technology and craft to create the fashion of the next generation.


With the transformation to a sustainable industry and an increasingly demanding digital shift, the fashion landscape is changing at an accelerated pace, and Synflux is working with a diverse range of designers, artists, engineers, research We will develop comprehensive and interdisciplinary projects, involving professionals and companies, to portray and realize an alternative clothing lifestyle.


With a focus on researching Algorithmic Couture, a design system that utilizes machine learning algorithms, and the development of WORTH, a customization platform for post-prêt-à-porter, advanced technologies such as AI and digital fabrication, and the history of fashion have become the focus of our research. Implementing products, services and systems that critically blend the skills of the craft that have been cultivated.


Synflux was founded in 2019 after winning the H&M Global Change Award, an international awards competition. Since then, the company has participated in exhibitions and academic conferences in cities as diverse as London, Basel, Cape Town, Yogyakarta, Kanazawa, and Tokyo, where it has presented its work and research. Other projects include R&D with global IT companies and fashion and apparel brands, new product development, and joint research with universities and research institutions.
